Autumnal Equinox and Blood Moon

The past two weeks have been amazing exhibitions of the order of nature. With the shedding of an old season, a new one is set in its place. The Autumnal Equinox, Wednesday, September 23rd, began the transition from summer to autumn. From the long days of summer, transitioning to the long nights of winter, the Equinox is the bi-yearly time when the sun crosses the celestial equator and the length of day and night are equal.

Mama nature showed her beauty and order again last Sunday, September 27th, with the Blood Moon. Although a term only originated a few years ago, everyone was excited to bask in the Blood Moon’s beauty and energy, The Blood Moon, or lunear tetard, is a super rare succession of four total lunar eclipses, with no partial lunar eclipses in between, each of which is separated from the other by six lunar months (six full moons). Most religions have something to say about this succession of lunar eclipses, whether it be positive or the end of the world, but most can agree that its energy is some kind of special.

These dreamies are my visual representations of these beautifully systemic process that flawlessly work together to keep harmony within the physical realm. In the first dreamie, the top weaved circle represents the earth, eclipsing the bottom circle, which represents the moon. The moon sphere holds a moonstone in the middle, which is said to be calming and is associated with love of all kinds. Brown was not only chosen to evoke feelings of autumn, but because it is an organic and wholesome color, and constantly found within nature. It is sensual, sensitive and warm, engulfing one in a feeling of calmness and comfort. Yellow is also incorporated into this dreamie to aluminate enthusiasm for life and awaken greater confidence and optimism. This color is related to acquired knowledge and resonates logic, or the left side of the brain. This represents the organized and harmonic systemic chaos of nature.

The second dream catcher is to represent the rare four lunar eclipses that happen in a row to create a lunear tetard. This dreamie is made with moonstone, rose quartz wrapped in copper wiring, clear quartz wrapped in copper wiring, and yellow wooden beads.

Both dreamies are now on sale in my shop!
